The Sako 85 Limited Edition premium Safari rifles are made by Sako’s master gunsmiths. These beautiful rifles are made individually to ensure every detail is cared for and the end product is nothing short of perfection. This bolt-action rifle is certainly made for the most demanding hunters and connoisseurs. Each Safari rifle is hand-finished, and the barrelled action is epoxy-bedded to the stock to provide you with the best and most durable fit and accuracy.
Available in .375 H&H, 416 Rigby, 450 Rigby, and 500 Jeffrey.
Its presentation-grade walnut features traditional hand-cut checkering, ebony fore-end tip and pistol grip cap. The handmade Safari stock is completed with a custom made Pachmayr recoil pad.
Adjustable Iron Sight
The sights feature quarter rib, rear blade shallow-V and band type front sight with ivory white bead. It is recommended that your Sako 85 Safari is equipped with a premium scope, installed with Sako Optilock mounts.
L and XL Action
The rifle is built around the Sako 85 size L and XL action with Sako Round Control System and integral dovetail rails for scope mounting.
Sako 85 actions come in six different sizes (CSA), providing reliable functioning for each caliber. All Sako 85 models feature controlled cartridge feed (RCS) to eliminate double feed or cartridge jams. The turn-bolt handle places the hand in a natural position during bolt operation, which allows for rapid repeated firing.
The barrels are manufactured with a passion for craftsmanship and the very best knowledge of Sako. Barrel blanks are drilled, honed, cold- hammer forged, finished and finally individually inspected by the human eye. Twist rates are chosen for each calibre to optimize accuracy and bullet performance.
The staggered, two-row magazine is made of stainless steel. The detachable magazine can also be loaded through the ejection port. The Total Control Latch prevents accidental magazine release.
The special two-way safety locks both the trigger and the bolt handle. The unique bolt release button of the Sako Safety System allows you to load or remove a cartridge from the chamber while the safety is engaged.
The ergonomics of Sako 85’s walnut and synthetic stocks are built for an optimal shooting posture. The excellent balance and smooth bolt operation of Sako 85 rifles enable fast, straight and accurate operation.
The weight of pull of the single-stage Sako 85 trigger unit is adjustable from 1 to 2kg. An optional single-set trigger is available for most Sako 85 models. Most Sako 85 rifles have an extremely durable, all-steel trigger guard that protects the trigger.
